Wheat Rust Disease

Some wheat fields in Aligarh and Bulandshar and was amazed at the exceptionally high rates seen in both black and yellow rust of wheat. The disease is more common in autumn sown (December seeding) cultures and usually stem rust was first noticed.

Yellow rust is now the most serious rust disease. Stripe rust has led to a loss of 7 percent in the wheat harvest statewide in 2000, but some non-treated area is estimated to cover 50 percent or more of the revenue loss.
